Mr. Mike Bossman, Ed.S.
I’m thrilled to be joining the Lincoln High School team as the Assistant Choir Director!
My journey in music education began with a Bachelor of Music in Music Education, earned in December 2007. After graduating, I stepped into the classroom as a long-term substitute at Yankton Middle School, teaching choir and woodwind lessons.
In fall of 2008, I began my first full-time position at Hayward Elementary in Sioux Falls, where I taught general music for six wonderful years. I then moved to Memorial Middle School, where I spent the next eight years teaching 6th–8th grade choir and a variety of encore courses. During that time, I also earned a Master’s in Education with a concentration in technology from Augustana University.
Most recently, I served as the K–12 Music Instructional Coach for the Sioux Falls School District. In that district-wide role, I mentored new teachers, supported music educators across all grade levels, and helped lead a full music curriculum rewrite. Along the way, I completed my Ed.S. in Pre-K–12 Administration and Leadership from USD.
Now, I’m excited to return to the choir classroom—working alongside incredible students and staff at Lincoln High School.
A little about my family: I’ve been married to my amazing wife, Libby, for 14 years. She’s a school counselor at Anne Sullivan Elementary. We have two energetic daughters: Lucy who will start Kindergarten this fall and Addie who will be in 2nd grade this fall. When I’m not making music, I enjoy reading, grilling, listening to Queen, and spending time doing just about anything with my family.
